The company was using a manual (paper) filing system to deal with documents related to health and safety/managerial/inspection etc. |

Employees are required by law to fill out specific forms on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. The form is then sent to a location where hard copies are stored. |

This system highlighted an expensive problem. If an employee claimed for an injury on site, the site manager had to be able to locate the claimant’s most recent form. Otherwise, the company was legally obliged to compensate the claimant to a level that the claimant himself/herself had set. |
